Can I remove text from a picture online for free?
Yes. TextWiper currently offers free editing and downloads during open beta. Use the brush, recognize image text, or process up to 10 images with your own keywords. No account is required.
Is TextWiper free, and do I need an account?
Yes. Editing is free during open beta, with no registration or watermark. An optional account saves settings and your keyword templates. There are no paid plans today.
Can I remove only my own keywords and keep brand words?
Yes. Enter the words or phrases to remove and the words to protect. Keep rules take priority. There is no built-in word list, and images without matching removal areas are skipped.
How many images can I process in a batch?
Up to 10 images, 10 MB per file and 40 megapixels in total. Repairs run one image at a time in your browser; text recognition requires upload confirmation. Review each result before downloading successful images or a ZIP.
Are my images uploaded or used for analytics?
If you confirm text recognition, a resized working image is securely sent to TextWiper and its text recognition service providers. TextWiper does not save images or recognized text. Google Analytics, when allowed, never receives images or keywords. Optional accounts store account data, settings and saved templates.
Will it restore the original background perfectly?
No. Repair estimates pixels from the surrounding image; it cannot recover hidden original detail. Busy backgrounds may show artifacts. Use a small selection and compare the result. PNG preserves decoded pixels outside the mask.
Which languages can it detect?
Automatic recognition supports the languages listed in the editor. The interface language and recognition language are independent.
